Arizona Payday Battle on the Desert Horizen
According to Phoenix Business Journal’s Chris Casacchia, Arizonans for Responsible Lending launched a campaign to defeat a November ballot measure that’s backed by the largest payday trade organization in the country. The group, which changed its name from Stop Payday Predators, has raised more than $100,000.
The Community Financial Services Association backs Proposition 200, which lowers caps on fees; set up flexible, no-cost repayment plans for those who can’t meet original obligations; validate established lenders; and eliminate some payday loan operations because of new financial requirements.
