Affiliate Summit Vegas 2009

January 14, 2009 By: Mari H. Category: Affiliate Marketing, Lead Exchange

Thank you to all the affiliates that stopped by our Meet Market booth on Sunday!  We look forward to working with some of you in the near future.  Overall the Affiliate Summit was great turnout.   The only challenge I saw was the need for some more meeting rooms.  Meeting with current or potential new clients is one main reason for attending the summit, and I have to say finding a room to meet in was sometimes a little more difficult.  The other thing I noticed was that Vegas was just not Vegas.  The streets were more vacant and the casinos were certainly filled with less people.  Has the economy hit Vegas????? Overall a great show!  Thanks Affiliate Summit staff.

Affiliate Marketing

August 19, 2008 By: Mari H. Category: Affiliate Marketing

There has been some recent blog posts by myself and my peers, regarding the Affiliate Summit Boston we recently attended. After attending this particular show, I could not believe all the new companies that are becoming a part of the Affiliate Marketing world. Companies that you would not expect are getting into affiliate marketing. The fact is these publishers and advertisers are realizing they are going to reach more people through the internet, versus other advertising methods.

According to Jupiter Research, “In 2008, online marketers will spend $2.1 billion on affiliate marketing fees, with US online affiliate marketing spending reaching $3.3 billion in 2012.” Companies from Sandels Vacations to Overstock.com are getting in on affiliate marketing. Companies like the idea of getting involved in affiliate marketing because there is not much cost to them to do this, and the cost that is involved is performance based. This means that if you have an affiliate program and there is no success, than there is no loss of revenue for the company. This low risk advertising is one of the reasons affiliate marketing is becoming such a large part of the marketing world.
Unfortunately, with the greatness of affiliate marketing there comes some bad. There are some unethical affiliates who are not always doing the “right” thing. This sort of behavior is something companies will just have to continue to monitor, to maintain the greatness of their affiliate programs.
Searching forums, blogs and other online information about affiliate marketing is key to perfecting it. Leadpile Lead Exchange will continue to be involved in events such as the Afffiliate Summit, and other online affiliate marketing forums.

Leadpile at the AffiliateSummit – Boston 2008

Leadpile - AffiliateSummit BostonWe are happy to welcome everyone attending AffiliateSummit this year in Boston to come and stop by our Meet Market table.

We will definitely check you guys out and discuss any opportunities to do business together.

Boston – Great city to host the AffiliateSummit and I can say that even the Hotel is not that bad. Other than the fact that Meet Market is in a different location than the Exhibit Hall, which creates some confusion between the attendees, everything seems to be really nice and well organized. Well, I have to say that printing the badges was a little disappointing and got us a little nervous before getting everything started.

The show haven’t even started and we were approached by people that are looking at working with us – first vertical – Education leads.

We will keep you updated! Stay tuned!
