October 04, 2010 By: Christina Category: Lead Exchange

lead exchange Happy Anniversary Wheeled Luggage!Being in the online marketing industry one knows how many trade shows, expos and client visits can accumulate during the year. So I’d like to say thank you to Bernard Sadow for believing in his wacky idea of placing wheels on a suitcase. 40 years ago Sadow, wrestling with 2 large suitcases had the idea of attaching wheels to luggage, using casters and a strap for pulling Sadow went to market! Macy’s was the first to carry the product and 2 years later Sadow was granted a patent on his wheeled suitcase.

Thanks again Bernard for making our lives easier!

Google Logo Change

September 07, 2010 By: Nicky Category: Lead Exchange, Social Networking, Technology

The internet has been buzzing today about Google’s new home page and how the logo has changed. The previous logo has gone from the solid colored “Google” font to moving colorful dots that scatter through out the screen when the mouse goes by it.
Many people are speculating if the new logo has to do with Google’s 12th Birthday, new innovations, or if it’s just an entertaining change for the site.

This morning, a Google spokesperson stated,

“Today’s doodle is fun, fast, and interactive, just the way we think search should be,”.

Last time Google received this much attention for their homepage was back in May when it was turned into a playable Pac-Man game for the game’s anniversary. This page was so popular it was reported to have used 4.8 million hours of productivity from those who used it.

One way or another, Google is once again  receiving attention for simply changing their home page look.

Google Celebrates Sesame Street Turning 40!

November 10, 2009 By: Natasha Aronov Category: Lead Exchange

lead exchange Google Celebrates Sesame Street Turning 40!An old favorite turns 40! Sesame Street had it’s 40 anniversary this week and was celebrated all over including Google’s homepage which changed images daily from one Sesame Street resident to another. Sesame Street has been teaching and entertaining children for 4 decades now, and is probably to thank for a large percentage of the US population under 40 learning how to count to 10.
Sesame Street not only teaches the ABC’s and 123’s, but also teaches acceptance and sets examples for children to follow. According to Newsweek, Sesame Street is now in 16 countries across the world including South Africa were the show features an HIV positive Muppet and in the Palestinian where coexistence and cooperation were displayed. Topics such as death and 9/11 have also been acknowledged by Sesame Street and children with illnesses and conditions are often regularly included on the show as well.
Newsweek states that not only is “Sesame Street no ordinary nonprofit. It is, arguably, the most important children’s program in the history of television. No show has effected the way we think about education, parenting, childhood development and cultural diversity, both in the United States and abroad, more than Big Bird and friends. You might even say that Sesame Street changed the world, one letter at a time”.
It seems too simple that a children’s program created 40 years ago could still be one of the best, but it is and nothing I have seen comes close to comparing. Leadpile wishes Sesame Street a Happy Anniversary!!!!!
