Till the season to be jolly….. Payday loan season has arrived. Networks, lenders and all those that are in the payday loan industry are fast approaching the busiest period of the year. The need for a payday loan becomes more and more in demand during the holidays, because people need to take out a quick short term loan to get things such as Christmas gifts.

Leadpile is proactively trying to keep up with the demand of the payday loan lead buyers/lenders, and the publishers that are requesting more resources to generate these leads. We are happy to introduce some pre pop sites (www.1500check.com AND www.uscashapproval.com) which makes the user experience much better when it comes to filling out the required information, and some new Microclick iForms for publishers to place on their websites. These are a great addition to the Microclick forms, ads, banners and landing sites we have available for our publishers.
Till the season to be jolly! Let’s talk payday loans!!!!

We all know there has been legislation going on with the payday loan industry, however it still does not take away the fact that consumers still need short term loans. If consumers still need a short term loan, like a payday loan or installment loan, then what are they supposed to do if these types of loans are banned in their states? WTAM.com is reporting that in the state of OH they are still struggling with consumers needing loans, but the loans are facing tough scrutiny.
Leadpile Lead Exchange recognizes that there are some state restrictions going on with this industry, but if there is going to be tough regulations, then shouldn’t there be some other type of short term loan that the consumers can look at taking out? If there is one door closing on the consumers, then there needs to be some other options available. What should be the available option to them? Ohio sounds like it might have a challenge on it’s hand to try and figure that out.

In the last few years many new ad networks or lead exchanges have surfaced. Many have survived and many have not. The need for networks and exchanges like Leadpile Lead Exchange came about because of the desire to connect multiple publishers with multiple advertisers to create simplicity for both parties. In addition to simplicity, is there any other reason that a publisher or advertiser should look at using a network versus one on on relationships?
1. As consumers get online more and more, publishers and advertisers need to figure out the best way to get the largest captive audience in once place. This is very difficult if you are trying to set up one on one relationships. Networks and exchanges allow this to be done without the hassle of developing one on one relationships.
2. There are cost benefits to the advertisers with working with network versus working directly with a publisher who usually has higher margins than the networks. This increase cost if passed on to the advertiser, whereas networks have higher volumes which allows there to be more of an ability to have lower margins.
3. The advertisers can capture all types of traffic sources in just a few networks versus trying to get a different publisher for each traffic source they are interested. For instance, to really diversify you want to utilize social networking, PPC and SEO, and SMS marketing.
4. Networks allow publishers an opportunity to sell their traffic/leads to various types of buyers/advertisers which allows them to diversify their ads to have everything funnel through one place, versus setting up one on one relationships with each advertiser.
5. Sophisticated networks/exchanges like Leadpile offer the technical capabilities for advertisers and publishers detailed reporting of the their campaigns. This creates simplicity for the publishers or advertiser with being able to have one place to track all their campaigns. This could be very large headache for someone to track each campaign they have one on one with.
Everyone in this industry has their own opinion on what is more effective: networks or one on relationships, however there just seems to be more benefits with working with an exchange or network versus trying to set up one on one relationships.

A daily conversation that myself and others in the affiliate marketing world deal with is the question of the form/ad/banner sizes. Leadpile is a perfect example of someone that has revolutionized a “smaller” version of forms and banners with the Microclick form, but is it more effective? ….OR is it more effective to have a larger leaderboard size banners or ad? How about a full size form on a website that does not allow as much content on the site, is that better? According to the Bizreport.com, banner size could in fact matter with the effectiveness of it’s message and goal.
Ultimately, all of us that are in the lead generation business and want to maintain longevity must always keep the user experience in mind to maintain effectiveness. The bottom line is consumers need to feel a sense of security when clicking on or filling out any form. Maybe having more content around the form instead of the larger form/banner occupying a large part of the site, might be a better idea for the consumer. The jury is out on what really is more effective, but I will say Leadpile Lead Exchange believes a form/banner like the size of the Microclick form is the most effective for the consumer’s experience.

Several years ago, how many of you were like me wondering what a “blog” was?? It is almost funny now for me to hear someone say…. What is a “blog”???? At this point in time, it is hard to understand how people can not at least recognize the word “blog”, with as much press that a lot of these celebrity bloggers get. Blogs have now become something for all of us to express ideas, and specifically for Leadpile the blog helps us to convey information going on in the lead generation industry. No matter what your purpose is for blogging, understand it is a great thing that evolved into something that is key to any company’s web presence.
Time.com states that blogs have been around for 15 years, however for many of us this is something that just came around. In the early stages of blogging there were a lot of at home moms that had taken up blogging as a way to supplement their income. Working with various companies and their products or services, at home moms were able to write influential information promoting these products for others to try them out. This was, and still is, a win win situation for both the at home mom who wants to be around their children, and the company that is getting their product talked about on the internet. So what could be next for blogs?
Leadpile Lead Exchange likes what can be conveyed through our blog to our readers. If your company is not utilizing a blog, then I would suggest incorporating one immediately. Besides being able to convey industry news to our advertisers and publishers, the blog allows us to have “fresh” content on our website on a regular basis. This is something that is very important to the search engines and generating that much desired traffic we are all looking for. So it seems there is really a lot of benefits with blogging, besides just a great place to say what you did last weekend. There are all levels of blogging, and it is certainly fit for just about anyone that wants to express any ideas- small or BIG! If you are lucky, you could even be a recipient of an award for having the best blog (Time Magazine has yearly awards). Got BLOG???????

Some very interesting information regarding women and what they prefer. Bizreport.com study finds that women of different age ranges are either on their PCs or their mobile phones more so than the other. This information is very important for Leadpile publishers because knowing your demographics and how to create sites effectively, will ultimately make or break your success with marketing. The study finds that women under the age of 25 tend to be more on their mobile phones, versus on the PC. Whereas women over the age of 40 tend to be more on their PCs. This means that mobile content types of sites should really be geared towards the younger age women, where the web based sites should really target the older women. If these two groups of women are spending their time on one or the other, really how does this affect publishers wanting to generate leads?
This really points out a few different things to pay attention to if you want to effectively market to women. If you are looking for various sources of advertising you might tend to be more effective with younger women if you are using things such as social networking, SMS marketing or Google Adsense on mobile applications. Your target audience would be younger and you would want to choose lead types that would work well with this demographic. However, if you are wanting to target a product/service to older women utilizing the traditional web would be the way to go.
This study really makes sense in the fact that the younger and younger generation will adapt to what is the most up to date technology, where older women are more comfortable in the PC world that they were brought up in. My guess would be if this study had included women over the age of 60, that they would tend to not have much involvement on the internet, and other sources of advertising would work better with them. Understanding what is going on with different demographics is very important as a publisher, because if you are not marketing effectively you waste time and advertising dollars. Studies such as this one is something to pay attention to and really try and understand, so we all can become effective in marketing our products and services to the right target market.

Google has implemented a way for advertisers to sell on mobile phones. Google is partnering up with mobile applications to allow the Google AdSense to be incorporated into their applications. DMNews states that mobile app usage is starting to exceed mobile web usage, therefore there is a lot of potential here with this partnership. Ads will be presented to the mobile users that match up with geographically in a text or image format, just like on the traditional AdSense ads.
This is great news for the Leadpile publishers that are looking for additional ways to generate online revenue. These potential consumers that are downloading the mobile applications are a more targeted consumer, versus those just “surfing” the net. I am sure this is just the beginning of learning new ways to monetize the mobile applications.

With all the talk about foreclosures and people buried in their credit card debt, we have failed to talk about all those that can not afford health insurance (uninsured) or those that are underinsured. Bankruptcy is easy to think about it being related to someone having to many credit cards, and then something life changing happened that forced someone to not be able to pay their debts. However, a lot of today’s bankruptcies are not necessarily from credit card debt, but from health care bills.
A recent study shows, bankruptcies that were due to medical debt rose 50 percent from 2001 to 2007. Older consumers are the ones getting hit the hardest. The elderly are unfortunately forced to retire prematurely, have not enough insurance to cover all their bills, or simply do not have any insurance. In a previous blog post I had discussed this painful problem, however things have not gotten any better for our elderly.
Part of this study involved a telephone survey. The telephone survey revealed that 41.8 percent of interviewees specifically identified a health problem contributed to their bankruptcy, 54.9 percent cited medical or drug costs, and 37.8 percent blamed income loss due to illness. Overall, 68.8 percent cited at least one of these medical causes. An additional 6.8 percent had recently borrowed money to pay medical bills. Not only is this a potential insurance related issue, but it is an issue regarding bankruptcy and consumers having no other option but to file bankruptcy. What else do they do?
Leadpile works with the bankruptcy lead type, and this is very much a lead type we have a demand for more buyers to help provide this much needed help to the consumers.
