Never give up on trying to build new business relationships. Keep in mind it sometimes takes many attempts for a new business partnership inquiry to turn one into a “live/working” relationship. Don’t give up on just reaching out to a few people a few times, because sometimes the best new business relationships take some hard work and patience with follow up.

Building your affiliates

Are we all too focused on just getting new fresh partners/affiliates, and therefore not spending time on what partners we already have?  If you have worked so hard to build a relationship with a partner/affiliate isn’t it easier to ask them first for more business vs trying to go through just acquiring new clients?  We all know trying to build new relationships with affiliates is something we all want and need to do, however shouldn’t we first worry about who we already have as partners and maintain those relationships?  I think the key to building your affiliate partnerships is to do a combination of things- manage current affiliates in building them bigger and better, building new relationships, and finally trying to get new business through referrals. Maintaing your partnerships is like any other things you go through in life- maintain and take care of what you already have before you try to tackle taking on anything new .  If you do just one of them(maintaing, building or referring), I think your nework of affiliates will be challenging to grow and BE SUCCESSFUL.  BALANCE is key.. that is the Libra side of me.
