First, I would like to say congratulations to our next president of the United States. No matter who everyone voted for, we are all keeping an eye on how the future of our struggling America pans out.  Secondly, there was something that America should really pay attention to, and that is an amazing effect the internet had on the election of our 44th president.
The internet AND social networking tools contributed to the Barack Obama being elected. According to businessstandard.com,“Obama, on his part, has refined the digital act further — a fact revealed during his presidential announcement speech in Springfield last October when he said: “Let us be the generation that reshapes our economy to compete in the digital age…” A few examples of this being implemented, was in the case where almost 300,000 people created accounts on the barackobama.com website, he became the first YouTube politician, got involved on Facebook, MySpace, text messaging and all other avenues of the internet for fund raising and party awareness.
Another interesting aspect in this presidential campaign was, “Obama has proposed the creation of the nation’s first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to ensure that the American government and all its agencies have the right infrastructure, policies and services for the 21st century. The CTO will have a specific focus on transparency, by ensuring that each arm of the federal government makes its records open and accessible as the e-government Act requires. The CTO will also ensure technological interoperability of key government functions”, according to Business Standard.
No matter who was elected, the excitement of the internet and the power it can have also excited Leadpile Lead Exchange. We are in it for the long hall on wherever this great internet craze LEADS us!

Did You Get My Text?

September 18, 2008 By: Bruce M. Category: Lead Exchange, Lead Generation, Lead Marketplace

lead exchange Did You Get My Text?Have you joined the texting revolution? If you haven’t, you are behind the times. Some surprising numbers have been released, and I cannot believe how much texting is going on. How many text messages do you believe were sent this year in the month of June? Would you believe 75 billion? Last June, 29 billion were sent, so texting has increased by 160%. Mobile data revenues for the first half of the year rose to $14.8 billion which is up 40% from last year. Mobile data now accounts for one-fifth of all mobile revenues.

Now a word of caution to advertisers — don’t just start sending a bunch of text messages. Recent studies indicate that internet users that have opted in to receive marketing messages, do not want to receive those messages via text. Only 1% of this group prefers to receive marketing text messages. It is important to use marketing text messages where appropriate, and most importantly, welcomed by mobile users.

SMS and Lead-gen in a Lead Exchange

Lead-gen Text MessagingThe Text Messages (SMS) have been always an interesting and productive way to generate leads or more business, including Branding awareness.

We knew about it, test it with our Offers, and our Publishers are doing it as well, but we never seen such results as we are seeing in the last month. The MicroClick Ads and the Microsites are some of the favorites when it comes to our Publishers using text messaging to promote the offers.

Just to have an idea of the efficiency, please check out the following numbers:

SMS Marketing lead-gen

The number of Impressions represent the number of people reaching the website from a text message. Out of everyone that have seen the site, almost 73% clicked on the form and 55% of them completed it – reached the confirmation page.

The EPM isn’t too bad either, with $1,437.57 for one thousand of impressions. The highest we’ve seen ranges between $2,500 and $3,200, but that’s more from targeted traffic, new customer base (PPC traffic).

The rule of success is to be creative and test new ways to build your customer base, offering quality and good service to consumers. Nothing is “Impossible” and things can be done in a very effective way without loosing the quality.
