Phoenix, Monday, July 25th, 2005 -- Online purchasing has become such a pervasive influence in users' lives that Leadpile.com predicts that online sales for the upcoming 2005 Holiday season will break all historic records and expects online sales in 2005 to at least double the 2004 season.
Leadpile reports that their surveys indicate that marketers are responding to the Internet's potential by pushing more of their budgets online, especially into industry specific search advertising.
Andy Jacob, CEO of Leadpile.com says, "Our survey shows that there will be a very competitive atmosphere for Online Marketers to show their products as more and more people have access to the internet, and continue to feel more comfortable shopping online." Jacob sates, "I see no reason that E-spending during the upcoming 2005 Holiday Season could not reach the unprecedented level of doubling of last year's sales."
Jacob says the only thing that could stop the hyper-growth of online sales in the short term is a major online security challenge such as massive identity theft. Jacob states, "Even though we predict hyper growth in online sales, e-commerce is still in its infancy. Therefore, I believe the only thing that could possibly derail online sales in the short term for 2005 would be a major scare such as a Massive Identity Theft." While Jacob does not see this happening, he states, "Unfortunately it is always a possibility".
